Arabic is the key to Islamic studies; without it a student of knowledge is forever dependent on the translation efforts of others. As it is the medium of all classic Islamic sciences, students are expected to become competent in it throughout their studies.
The Madina Institute Arabic program enables students to access Arabic texts in their original form on their own as well as navigate modern usage of the language. Based on the Mother Tongue curriculum* as well as classical texts and taught by native speakers, the program focuses on reading, writing, listening and speaking.
1-Year Arabic Language Programs
Arabic is highly emphasized during the Islamic Studies program, but can be taken independently as our 1-Year FULL-TIME Arabic Program. By the end of the year, students take standardized national tests and have developed the ability to read and understand 80% of any classical text they encounter.
Our Part-Time Arabic Language Program is also offered (twice a week, for one year) for students to start a basic yet comprehensive study of Arabic.
